FAQ:
Q. Why is the PreventiCare program ending?
A. The PreventiCare® program as it exists today will be coming to an end on April 14, 2010. Pfizer Animal Health will be launching a new equine wellness program in summer 2010, which will be more focused on the individual nature of each horse’s health care needs over its lifetime. As always, twice annual deworming with QUEST® (moxidectin) or QUEST PLUS® (moxidectin and praziquantel) is a viable component of an effective deworming program, along with the use of STRONGID® C (pyrantel tartrate) or STRONGID® C 2X (pyrantel tartrate).
STRONGID C and STRONGID C 2X remain the number one dewormers in the U.S., and continue to be a great option for daily parasite prevention. Pfizer Animal Health is strongly committed to the equine industry, and in the months ahead, we will send you all of the information you need to participate in the new program.
Q. Will the online system continue to work after April 14, 2010?
A. Yes. The only component that will be shut down is the option to enroll or re-enroll new horses. The rest of the online PreventiCare site will be functioning for veterinarians, horse owners and boarding barn managers to use and manage horses enrolled in the PreventiCare program.
